"Hate To Say I Told You So"
By: Danny Baldwin

I’ve been waiting to write these post-war thoughts to find enough information to support one of my many theories about liberals; they’re all in denial. Almost every single person, who’s in the least bit liberal, claims we haven’t found anything in Iraq and that the war was completely pointless. They deny us having found biological agents and structures used to make weapons; everything. If we were to find a giant nuclear bomb lying in the heart of Baghdad, I’d bet they’d still think the war was pointless! In Iraq, we accomplished what we needed to do—free a people from a cruel dictator. Sadaam Hussein is now out of power, and we will begin to reform the Iraqi country. But those liberals, they just keep protesting, and calling Bush the anti-Christ.

Maybe I’d actually listen to them if they begin to use supporting evidence to back up they’re arguments, but all they’re doing right now is complaining. You have the right to say “F*ck Bush,” but if you have no evidence on why he is doing anything to hurt this country, then I’d like to tell you something—shut your mouth and go f*ck yourself. You use profanity, and I can retaliate using profanity—that’s the kind of supporting argument I’m looking for. Even something that unintelligent would be nice to hear, aside from a four letter word that starts with an f. I don’t care if you’re a liberal, but at least be an intelligent one. No, telling me to f*ck off is not intelligent.

All people are doing when criticizing what will go down in history books as the most successful war ever, is making a bigger fool out of themselves than they already have. People aren’t born stupid, but some of these crazy people who detest the President in every way possible make it seem like some are. Don’t get me wrong, some liberals are very intelligent and sensible. Just not many, because they’re too construed in their blatant arguments to be. For an example of a reasonable liberal: Joe Lieberman, who will most likely be the final democratic candidate in the 2004 election. I don’t often agree with him, but he expresses some very good points when debating and shows that he is very intelligent when doing so (and was for this war). You may not agree with me all of the time, but at least use your knowledge and sense, when showing so.

I think that many people misinterpreted the reason why we went to war. It was to eliminate a potentially, and already very, dangerous dictator from power; not to destroy every single thing he’s come in contact with. Through the War on Iraq, we did so, and we freed the people that he was controlling (and harming). We found several biological agents that were used to make weapons, and several more things of that nature. This was an extreme success for us, as a country, and it will benefit us in future relations, as well. We have done well, and the men and women of the United States military should be commended for their brave work. The economy will begin to rapidly improve again, and I think with that, many more people who protested against this war will come around.

Even though they still, obviously, haven’t learned, I hope this was a step in the right direction in teaching liberals why war here was the best option. I think that President Brush has handled the whole thing beautifully, and is now in the process of getting back to business as usual. In closing, I think that the war was an excellent example of our power as a country as a whole. This has been a spectacular victory for us, but more importantly, the Iraqi people.
